Quilting Services

Edge to edge quilting $0.025 per square inch

Choose from a wide selection of pantographs, we’ll find the perfect one for your quilt.

Custom quilting starting at $0.05 per square inch

This includes hand guided free motion quilting and the use of rulers to highlight appliqué, piecing, specific blocks, backgrounds and borders of your quilt.

Batting and threads

I carry Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton batting and Hobbs Premium 100% wool and charge a small fee of $20 to $80 depending on size and type. If different batting is required this can be arranged.

I use Glide thread or So-Fine Superior thread depending on the type of quilting requested and there is no charge for this thread. I carry a wide selection of colours.

Other services if requested include:

  • backing preparation – $5 to $10
  • trimming and pressing -$5 to $10
  • binding preparation – $5 to $10
  • sew binding to front of quilt – $0.05 per linear inch
  • hand sew binding to back of quilt – $0.15 per linear inch

Classes and Machine Rentals

Please note, all renters must complete a certification class before renting the machine.

Certification Class $75

In this 2 hour class you will learn – the basics of thread and batting choices – how to thread the machine and load a bobbin – how to load a quilt – the basics of edge to edge quilting using a pantograph – beginner free motion quilting. A one piece practice quilt top, batting and backing will be provided to learn on. You may also bring a quilt top and backing to do your first quilt. Two additional hours for quilting your own quilt are included in the fee.

Personalized Classes $25 per hour

Free motion quilting and quilting with rulers classes are also available and will be personalized for your skill level. There may be additional charges for fabric if needed.

Rental of APQS Lucey machine $15 per hour

Rental times are flexible including evenings and weekends. Multi day rentals may be available if the machine is not booked and then you only pay for the hours that it is used.
